Whenever we talk about smartphones, the first name that came to our mind is Apple iPhone. In simple words, Apple iPhone is the dream of every smartphone user and they eagerly wait for the arrival of every new iPhone series. When we compare iPhones with other smartphones, iPhones stay ahead of all their competitors in terms of every aspect like features, updates, performances, software, etc.
Recently, at its California Streaming event held on September 14, 2021, Apple announced the release of its new iPhone 13 series together with some other products. This year iPhone releases iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In this article, we are going to share everything you need to know about the new iPhone series such as its release date, specifications, new features, and price.
iPhone 13mini and iPhone 13
At its event, Apple confirmed the release of the iPhone 13 series and you can also pre-order the handsets. The pre-orders for iPhone 13 series opened on 17 September 2021 and the release date of this series is September 24, 2021.
Design and Display of iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13
Both iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 come with a flat-edge design and have a Ceramic Shield glass similar to the iPhone 12 series. It also contains IP68 dust and is water resistant to a depth of 6 meters and for 30 minutes. These both iPhone come with five new colors variant; Blue, Pink, Starlight, Midnight, and Product Red.
The design of these two devices is almost similar to the iPhone 12 series and if any of you have an iPhone 12, you can easily recognize what you are getting in the iPhone 13 series. But, this time, Apple decreases the size of the notch by 20%, so you will get extra space on the screen.
However, the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini are slightly thicker than the iPhone 12 models as the thickness of the latest models is 7.65 mm in comparison to the thickness of the iPhone 12 models which is 7.4mm. iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch display with 1170×2532 resolutions, while iPhone 13 Mini has a 5.4-inch screen with 1080×2340 resolutions. Both devices include Super Retina XDR displays, which use Apple’s exclusive OLED technology. As previously reported, the phones will have a 60Hz refresh rate on their screens.
MagSafe is also back on all iPhone 13 models, allowing you to use any accessories you purchased for your iPhone 12 last year, as well as some new ones that Apple has announced for the new model this year.
iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 Camera
The camera block on the iPhone 13 has been redesigned, with the lenses now placed diagonally instead of vertically. There are two 12MP cameras: one is broad and the other is ultra-wide (with a 120-degree field of view). Apple claims that the cameras on these devices are superior to those on the iPhone 12. The f/1.6 aperture on the wide camera and the f/2.4 aperture on the ultra-wide camera is the difference between the two cameras.
Apple claims that the main camera can catch 47% more light than its predecessor, and the ultra-wide can expose better performance in dark places, so performance in low light should be better as well. As a bonus, sensor-shift optical image stabilization is included in the camera, so photos should be more stable.
There’s also a new Photographic Styles camera function on all iPhone 13 models that lets you carefully apply tweaks to give your images a unique style, as well as a Cinematic video mode that lets you add depth effects and focus transitions. Like its predecessors, the latest iPhones have a 12MP f/2.2 selfie camera.
Specifications and Performance
Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset, used in the iPhone 13 series, boasts a CPU by 50% and GPU speeds up to 30% quicker than those found in the competitors. A new 16-core Neural Engine with 15.8 trillion operations per second capability is also included in the latest models. All of these devices, including the iPhone 12 series, are also 5G-ready.
The iPhone 13 series offer storage options of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. Apple has finally removed the 64GB option from its flagship iPhones, allowing for more capacity to be included in the cheapest model.
Battery Life of iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini
When it comes to battery life, Apple says the iPhone 13 Mini will last 90 minutes longer than its predecessor, while the iPhone 13 will last 2.5 hours longer. The iPhone 13 Mini has claimed video playback time of up to 17 hours, while the iPhone 13 claimed video playback time of up to 19 hours.
The A15 chipset and iOS15 software were largely responsible for this enhancement. Apple has not officially confirmed the battery size of the iPhone 13 models. You won’t get a charger with any iPhone 13 model, just like with the iPhone 12 series. Either utilize your current charger or purchase a new one; you can also use wireless charging.

Cameras in iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max
iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max come with similar camera specifications to the other two models of the iPhone 13 series; 12MP main camera with F1.5 aperture, 12MP ultra-wide autofocus, and 12MP telephoto with 3x.
The camera on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, as compared to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 small, is perhaps the most significant improvement, aside from the new 120Hz Promotion display. Sensor-shift stabilization is now on both Pro models, previously only available on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. 1.9-micron physical pixels on a smartphone are a sight to behold, and the new 13 Pro/Max main camera sensor is a significant step forward for the company.
Additionally, the ultra-wide cameras on both phones offer autofocus rather than the fixed focus found in the iPhone 12 series cameras. In addition, the telephoto camera’s sensor, lens, and zoom specifications have all been upgraded, and it now offers 3x optical magnification. Apple’s 13- and 14-inch 13 Pro iPhones feature the greatest camera hardware the company has ever put in an iPhone.
Performance of iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max
● Advanced 5nm Apple A15 processor
● TSMC N5P production strategy
● 5-core GPU
● Up to 10% better performance compared to A14
● Up to 15% power draw reduction
In the iPhone 13 Pro/Max, Apple added a fifth GPU to the A15 chipset, making it faster than the A15 in the other two series of iPhone 13. Since the A14 is already powerful like Cher, the idea is to put more emphasis on AR/VR, AI, image, and other buzzword co-processing than pure power gain.
