To be eligible, candidates must have a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 2,500, possess a degree or diploma, and demonstrate relevant work experience. The S Pass is valid for up to two years and can be renewed subsequently.

Successful candidates are initially granted a one-year pass, which can be renewed subsequently.

Unlike other passes, the PEP is not tied to a specific employer. It allows pass holders to switch jobs without reapplying for a new pass. The PEP is valid for up to three years and cannot be renewed.
